Steps To Do When Doing Disposal Installation
The first step would be to disconnect all currently existing assemblies from both the sink flange and the trap. Make sure that you have a bucket as well as a towel available in order to catch any debris and water. The next step would be to remove the mounting assembly from the disposal; this will allow you to install the new flange into the sinkhole. Remember to apply the plumber’s putty before dropping it into place.
The next step would be to attach the top mounting assembly to the sink flange, this works well when there is a heavy object on top of the flange to hold it in place. There should be instructions on the proper gasket placement. The next step would be to slip the mounting ring over the flange. When we look at the next item that would need to be placed on the flange it would be the snap ring that should be able to pop into a groove for proper placement. Then simply tighten the three mounting screws until you have a tight seal.
The third step would include attaching the disposal to the mounting assembly, starting by attaching the discharge tube. The next step would include cleaning out any hardened waste. Next one should prepare the dishwasher drain connection. This would mean that one should knock out the drain plug from the dishwasher and attach it to the drain hose from the dishwasher.
The fourth step would be to properly position the disposal under the current mounting assembly this should allow for the mounting tabs to slide over the mounting tracks. The next one will want to insert the disposal into the mounting assembly. Next, we will want to rotate the lower part of the mounting ring until one is able to lock them over the ridges on the mounting ring then tighten the ring.
The fifth step would be to make sure that the discharge tube aligns with the drain trap. Hopefully, the existing tube is all that is needed. This will lead us to the final step which connects the power to the disposal there should be a cord with the disposal but if there is not one might want to seek out an electrician to have one installed. For those out there that would like to save time and depending on errors money can be saved as well plumbing companies should have people available to assist you.
